Hong Kong's recent ban on face masks in public has angered protesters even more. Police said they used 367 canisters of tear gas, 106 rubber bullets, 15 beanbag rounds and 30 sponge bullets in clashes with demonstrators over the weekend. They recorded 213 cases of vandalism of shops, MTR facilities, public property and buildings, as well as 80 instances of damaged traffic lights. HKSAR Chief Executive Carrie Lam said on Tuesday that no options can be ruled out to stop the violence and end the chaos. But at present, she said city authorities could handle the situation.
