More than 300 red-billed gulls have arrived for wintering at the Dianchi Lake near the city of Kunming in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

According to experts from the Kunming Birdwatching Association, the birds arrived about one week earlier than usual.

In the past years, the first flock usually had about 100 gulls.

It is estimated that larger flocks are expected to arrive at the city in early November.
