5.7-magnitude quake strikes off Japan's Chiba Prefecture: JMA

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 struck off the southeast coast of Japan's Chiba Prefecture on Saturday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). 

The temblor occurred at 06:22 p.m. local time, with its epicenter at a latitude of 34.7 degrees north and a longitude of 140.7 degrees east, and at depth of 80 km.

The quake logged four on the Japanese seismic intensity scale which peaks at 7.

So far no tsunami warning has been issued.
