China and Nepal agreed on Saturday to upgrade their relations to a strategic partnership of cooperation featuring everlasting friendship for development and prosperity. The agreement was made when Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Nepali President Bidhya Devi Bhandari in Kathmandu. Xi also met with President of the Nepali Congress Party Sher Bahadur Deuba, expressing the readiness to conduct exchanges and cooperation.
