Selaginella bryopteris: Can it infuse life?
CGTN

In Ramayana, an important epic of ancient India, there is a magical plant called sanjeevani that can bring people back from death. The herb is supposed to grow from the Dronagiri range in the Himalayas. But no one has found this miracle plant up to today. Is it a real plant or simply a legend?

However, there are some candidates for the sanjeevani plant, including Selaginella bryopteris.

Selaginella bryopteris is traditionally used as a medicinal plant in India to cure heat stroke, coma and other conditions. But its effectiveness hasn't been proved scientifically.

Here are two photos of Selaginella bryopteris. Could this be the legendary sanjeevani?
