Men's singles world No. 1 Xu Xin Saturday nailed the men's and mixed doubles titles at the 2019 ITTF German Open in Bremen.

In the men's doubles, Xu paired with Liang Jingkun and claimed the title after a 3-1 win against German duo, Denedikt Duda and Qiu Dang. Xu's smash gave the team an 8-2 lead. Duda and Qiu clawed back and tied the score at 10 before winning the first set 13-11. Xu and Liang then dominated the next two sets and the fourth with 11-5 sealing the victory.

In the mixed doubles final, Xu cooperated with Sun Yingsha – the first time the two have ever teamed up at this event. The pair beat their fellow Chinese duo Wang Chunqin and Wang Manyu with a 3-1 win. Mixed doubles will be part of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, and Xu and Sun will be among the favorites.
