Typhoon Hagibis has claimed at least 35 lives, while dozens are still missing in Japan. More than 100,000 rescuers, including 31,000 soldiers, were deployed Sunday night to save people trapped by landslides and floods triggered by Typhoon Hagibis. Authorities have issued the highest-level rain disaster warning, saying "unprecedented" downpours were expected. The typhoon also brought travel chaos and power outages to tens of thousands of homes. UN Secretary- General Antonio Guterres on Sunday said that he was saddened by the loss of lives and expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims.
