Five people have been killed and four others injured after an office building under construction collapsed at around 6:40 a.m. local time on Monday in Baicheng City, northeast China's Jilin Province, said the local fire department.

More than 110 people worked together to rescue the nine occupants by the time of 3:45 p.m. local time (0745 GMT) on Tuesday, October 15.

The four injured people are being treated at the hospital and are in stable condition.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
