The 71st Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest of its kind in the world, opened on Tuesday evening, introducing Norway as this year's guest of honor and an area of some 600 square meters for audio books and podcasts.
A total of 7,450 exhibitors from 104 countries and regions are expected to attend the book fair, which runs from October 16 to 20. More than 100 exhibitors from the Chinese mainland have been registered, according to the book fair's catalog.

As audio is becoming one of the media industry's fastest growing segments worldwide, this year's Frankfurt Book Fair will introduce Frankfurt Audio, a 600-square-meter-plus area showcasing latest trends in audio books and podcasts, and bring together publishers and streaming platforms of the industry.
