When blooming, clusters of small flowers with textured petals soon fill the pot or the garden, even in the autumn when most of the flowers begin to wither. Wax begonia's blooming period can last for more than nine months, from March to December. Hence, it is very popular among gardeners as everyone hopes to see lovely flowers blooming all the time.

While planting wax begonia, one needs to take special measures for maintaining the right temperature and light conditions. Most of the varieties can do well in partially sunny areas, while a few can do better in areas fully exposed to the sun. Well-drained soil and humid environment help it thrive. Moreover, pets should be kept away from wax begonia as the flower is somewhat poisonous and may cause the pet animals to vomit if ingested.
