Carrie Lam's Q&A in HK LegCo halted amid repeated disruptions
A meeting of the Legislative Council (LegCo) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was halted twice on Thursday as Chief Executive Carrie Lam was about to answer lawmakers' questions on her policy address.
Lam's policy address mainly focused on safeguarding the rule of law and providing affordable public housing.
She pledged to restore order in the society and reiterated that Hong Kong will uphold the "One Country, Two Systems" policy and enforce the law judiciously.
The Q&A Session was repeatedly disrupted by legislators, which left little time for Lam to elaborate on her policies and plans.
The Council's President Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen announced the suspension of the meeting twice to restore order.
Lam delivered her annual policy address Wednesday via video after it was suspended by the LegCo due to disruptions by a few legislators.
