Carrie Lam is fielding questions from the public, live on Facebook. The chief executive began taking questions at 8:00 p.m. local time. About 7,000 viewers joined the Q&A session at its start. She is hoping to answer questions about her proposals on housing, transportation, and other quality-of-life issues, as the city government tries to quell unrest. An attempt earlier today to take questions from lawmakers didn't go so well. The morning session of the Legislative Council was repeatedly suspended as lawmakers interrupted Lam. About a dozen people had to be removed. This follows similar disruptions to her address yesterday when she first made the proposals. She was forced to deliver the address by video link after lawmakers heckled her.
