Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 4th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum held in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Thursday.

Xi said that since last July he announced the establishment of "Sino-Arab future-oriented strategic partnership of comprehensive cooperation and common development" at the opening ceremony of the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF), the friendly cooperation between China and Arab states has entered a new phase.

He expressed the hope that China and Arab states work together to promote media convergence development, build smart broadcasting and television media, develop smart broadcasting and television networks, and make greater contributions to enhancing the people-to-people bonds between China and Arab states and promoting the development of China-Arab strategic partnership.

During the forum, officials in related administrations of both sides, as well as representatives of media and film and television production organizations will discuss topics including broadcasting and television policies, content creation and audio-visual communication, and capability building and industry development.

About 300 people from China, 18 Arab states and the League of Arab States, as well as the Arab States Broadcasting Union, attended the event.
