First torchbearer Wang Hao

Career highlights:

Wang Hao currently serves as deputy captain and coach for China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) August 1st Table Tennis Team. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time gold medalist of men's singles at the World Table Tennis Championships.

He previously ranked world No. 1 on the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings for 27 consecutive months, from October 2007 to December 2009. In April 2011, he rose again as the top-ranked male player across the globe. He is known to execute the Reverse Penhold Backhand (RPB) with exceptional skill.

Second torchbearer Jin Yongde

Sport: air pistol shooting

Career highlights:

Jin Yongde currently serves as deputy captain and coach of China's PLA August 1st Shooting Team. Jin was the champion of the men's 25 meters air pistol shooting event at the 5th Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2011. One year later, he dominated the event again with a gold medal during the Asian Shooting Championships.

Honored as the "King of Shooting," Jin is a 26-time gold medalist in worldwide competitions.

Third torchbearer Wang Tanglin

Year of birth: 1991

Sport: Military Pentathlon

Career highlights:

Wang is a 10-time International Military Sport Council (CISM) Military Pentathlon Champion since she joined the army in 2008. She currently serves as both athlete and assistant coach at China's PLA August 1st Military Pentathlon Team.

As an elite female soldier-athlete, Wang has been honored by the All-China Women's Federation with the award of China National March 8th Red Flag-bearer.

Fourth torchbearer Jiao Liuyang

Year of birth: 1991

Sport: swimming

Career highlights:

After making her debut at the 2006 Asian Championships in Singapore, Jiao has gradually earned her fame as the Butterfly Queen. She won a gold medal in the women's 200 meters butterfly swimming event, which set a new Olympic record, at the London Summer Olympic Games in 2012. She was named as an International Elite Athlete by the General Administration of Sport of China in 2014. Two years later, a swimming club named after her was set up in south China's Guangzhou. Nowadays, Jiao coaches the China's PLA August 1st Lifesaving Team.

Fifth torchbearer Yang Junjing

Year of birth: 1989

Sport: Volleyball

Career highlights:

Yang currently plays for China's August 1st Volleyball Team.

Among numerous awards she has received, Yang was honored as the "Best Blocker" at the 2011 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship and "Best Middle Blocker" during the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship.

Being a member of China women's volleyball team, Yang shared Team China's golden glory at FIVB World Cup in 2015, at Asian Championships in 2011 and 2015, and Montreux Volley Master in 2016.

Sixth torchbearer Wang Shuang

Sport: football

Career highlights:

As a footballer born in Wuhan, Wang is a current member of China national team and she was part of the Paris Saint-Germain club in France during the 2018-19 season.

The Chinese female forward was the winner of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Player of the Year award in 2018.

Seventh torchbearer Liu Yudong

Year of birth: 1970

Sport: Basketball

Career highlights:

As a member of the "Golden Generation" of Chinese basketball, Liu held the CBA record for most career points scored (8,387 points in 387 games), until it was broken by Zhu Fangyu in 2012. Individually, he won the 2002 CBA MVP and the 2002, 2003 CBA Finals MVP; as a teammate, he helped the Bayi Rockets win seven CBA Championships.

Prior to his torch-bearing experience at Military World Games, Liu was the flag-bearer of the Chinese Sports Delegation in two Olympic Games.
