A kiln was ignited Saturday at a ceramic fair in China's porcelain capital of Jingdezhen in east China's Jiangxi Province. The wood-fired kiln is known as "Hulu (Gourd) Kiln," since it is gourd-shaped. This variety of kiln can be traced back to more than 600 years ago from the end of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The reconstruction of this kiln is intended to enable more people to know the traditional kiln.
