Autumn's golden glory has once again taken over the poplar forests in Kashgar Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The desert poplar, or populus euphratica, can survive in extremely dry and cold areas. Thus, the desolate desert is where it thrives.

The golden autumn scenery of desert poplars is very popular among tourists and shutterbugs.

"It's more beautiful than we expected, exactly like the scenery on landscape pictures," said a tourist.
