The museum spent around 400 million U.S. dollars expanding its galleries and spaces. The museum hoped that the renovation would allow for artifacts exhibited in new ways. /VCG Photo

Along with the reopening, an all-new space called the Marie-Josée and Henry Kravis Studio was also opened to visitors, which is for live and experimental programming. The Paula and James Crown Creativity Lab is also a new experimental space where anyone can walk in to take part in conversations with artists anytime. /VCG Photo

Jan Postma, MoMA's chief financial officer said that one of the goals of the renovations is to better connect the museum to the people and streets of New York City. /VCG Photo
