Chan Tong-kai, suspect in a homicide that occurred in China's Taiwan in 2018, was released on Wednesday from prison in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). His case had prompted a now-defunct fugitive bill which triggered the ongoing months-long violent protests.
