Chinese athletes made history on Friday by reaching 100 gold medals at the Military World Games in Wuhan. This is the first time for any team to achieve such honor in the 24-year history of the world sports event.

Having sent a total of over 500 athletes to the Military World Games at home, China is aiming for something special, and the country's athletes have been performing remarkably well. For example, the team won 27 swimming golds while breaking 19 records of the event.

When China finished the competitions on Thursday, the team continued to rank No. 1 on the medals table with 88 golds, 46 silvers and 21 bronzes.
