A fresh report from the World Bank says China is once again among the world's top-ten most improved economies for ease of doing business. According to the report, China's ranking for ease of doing business moved up 15 places to 31st this year. That placed it among the world's ten most-improved economies, along with others such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and India. The report says China has reduced the red tape involved in getting construction permits. It now takes 111 days to go through these permitting procedures, while the average in East Asia and the Pacific is 132 days. China also advanced to 28th worldwide for having stronger protections for investors who hold minority stakes. That's above the regional average of 99th. China now ranks 12th globally in providing electricity and performs significantly better than the rest of the region. So how significant is the ranking compared with that of last year? And how can we explain that? Mr. Chen Jiahe, a chief strategist at Cinda Securities, shares his insights on this fresh ranking.
