China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region cultivates chickpeas on a large scale. Its history in the area dates back 2,000 years. Most chickpeas grown in China are in Mulei County. Nowadays, locals use chickpeas in many dishes, such as chickpea sweet cake, Guokui, a traditional flour-based food in northwest China, chickpea milk, and various flavors of fried chickpeas. #JourneytoXinjiang #Xinjiang
