North China's Nanhaizi Wetland and Rongcheng Whooper Swan National Nature Reserve in east China have seen flocks of migratory birds stopping over during winter migration.

The Nanhaizi Wetland is an important stop on the central Asia-Australasia flyway for migratory birds.

The migration season started on October 15 and the wetland has received some visitors, including over 600 great crested grebes and more than 600 black-headed gulls.

These birds will stay there for about a month before continuing their journey to the south.

Rongcheng Whooper Swan National Nature Reserve recently saw their first batch of migratory whooper swans, marking the start of the migratory season for the species.

Rongcheng is one of the largest whooper swan habitats in Asia. From October to March, hundreds of thousands of whooper swans will stay here for wintering.
