Chinese President Xi Jinping Friday expressed hope that foreign countries could "truly understand China" by further enhancing exchanges and mutual understanding.

Xi made the remarks while meeting the representatives of foreign delegates attending the fourth Understanding China Conference at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The conference, being held from October 25 to 27 in Guangzhou City, southern China's Guangdong Province, focuses on the new round of economic globalization as well as policies for furthering China's reform and opening-up.

The conference is expected to gather more than 30 global politicians, strategists, scholars and entrepreneurs.
