The UK isn't the only country that's giving Huawei some positive signals. Last week in Rome, a Huawei innovation center was opened, allowing people to experience 5G applications for smart cities. Recent data show the telecom giant has struck over 60 deals for 5G commercial applications overseas. Almost half come from Europe. The rest are from the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and Africa. Meanwhile, Huawei has managed to sustain its shipments of 5G base stations, despite the U.S. ban on parts that came in May. Security is a main concern among those rejecting Huawei's products. That's despite findings from the UK's National Cyber Security Center, which has closely analyzed Huawei equipment and found no evidence of malicious activity by the company.
