When you make a trip to Nanchang City, the Tengwang Pavilion is a must-see scenic spot for visitors from home and abroad. CGTN will take you on a VR journey, and bring you a glamorous beauty of Tengwang Pavilion – one of the popular tourist attractions in east China's Jiangxi Province.

On the east bank of the Ganjiang River, the Tengwang Pavilion or the Pavilion of Prince Teng is Nanchang's landmark. First built in 653 by Li Yuanying, the son of Li Yuan, the first emperor of the Tang Dynasty, the pavilion is known as one of China's four great towers, together with Yellow Crane Tower, Yueyang Tower and the Penglai Pagoda.

Covering an area of 47,000 square kilometers and standing 57.5 meters tall, the pavilion has nine floors – three of them could be seen with your eyes while four floors are hidden inside and the other two are below the ground. Standing on top of the pavilion, visitors can get a panoramic view of the city. Meanwhile, there are two small subsidiary pavilions – Yajiang and Yicui – situated on both the south and north of the main pavilion.

When you take a closer look at the main pavilion, visitors can easily find that the main building features red pillars and green tiles, painted rafters and clinging beams, columns interconnected with one another, and exquisitely carved doors and windows. It's undeniable that every detail counts!

For thousands of years, inspired by the stunning views and rich cultural heritage of the pavilion, many artists, writers and maestros have created plenty of famous poems and artworks. In 2018, the Tengwang Pavilion Tourist Area was granted 5A-level tourist attraction in China.

In addition, there are many shops alongside the pavilion, where you can buy souvenirs before you leave. If you have plenty of your time to stay in Nanchang, then the Site Memorial of August 1 Nanchang Uprising is also worth visiting.
