Hami City is well known for producing Hami melon in China. The fruit has had a relationship with northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for over 2,000 years. But there is so much more to Hami as its important location, different landform and diverse culture make it a miniature of Xinjiang. The city is a mixture of the ancient and modern Silk Roads.
