A magnitude-6.6 earthquake struck the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines on October 29. The quake struck 26 kilometers northeast of Tulunan, Cotabato, at 9:04 a.m. local time with a depth of 15.3 kilometers, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The island of Mindanao was recently hit by a 6.3-magnitude earthquake on October 16, which left six people dead and over 160 people injured.
