Kunming has designated 62 feeding points and prepared 33 tons of feed for black-headed gulls that will come from Siberia for wintering. According to the local birdwatching group, more than 3,000 black-headed gulls were spotted in Haigeng Park and about 1,000 are on Dianchi Lake. As their numbers increase, the birds will move from the waters to the shore to seek food given out by residents. It is the 35th consecutive winter the birds are spending in the city.
