Badaling National Forest Park in Beijing, north China, located in Badaling Mountain, covers 56 hectares, and is planted with more than 50,000 maple trees. The Park is between Badaling Great Wall and Juyongguan Great Wall.
Since the Red Leaves Hill scenic area is 500 meters higher above sea level than the downtown area, its temperature is around five degrees Celsius lower than that in downtown Beijing all the year round. Because of the cooler temperature, the park is the first place to watch beautiful maple leaves in Beijing.
