China's largest fresh water lake Poyang Lake, located in the country's eastern region, is at its peak migratory birds season.

The latest arrivers include flocks of common cranes, known for its grey body, blackish forehead, bare red crown and a white streak extending from behind the eyes to the upper back.

Poyang Lake is an important wintering area for waterbirds in Asia. Every year from October to March, hundreds of thousands of birds, including the Siberian cranes, white-naped cranes, grey cranes and white ospreys spend their winter here.
