Cultural exchange events promote Sino-Greek friendship

An exhibition named "Travelling comics from China to Greece" launched in Athens on October 31 local time, starting a series of cultural exchange activities between China and Greece. 

Guo Weimin, the vice-minister of the Information Office of the State Council of China, stressed in his opening ceremony speech that this event will enhance positive exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Greek civilizations, and will also deepen mutual understanding between the two peoples. 

"Both China and Greece are ancient civilizations with a long history and profound cultural heritage. The two peoples are currently shouldering the responsibility of national rejuvenation," he said.

"The two countries have broad prospects for cooperation and a bright future," he added.

Lydia Koniordou, Greek former minister of Culture agreed, saying the cultural works from China provide opportunities for the Greek people to understand Chinese culture, even though they speak different languages. 

More than 100 representative works of Chinese animation and paintings can now be enjoyed by Greek audiences, until the middle of November.

At the exhibition, China's latest blockbuster movies "Ne Zha" and "White Snake" were presented to Athenian, along with some classic paintings by well-known painters Feng Zikai and Zhang Leping and were well received. 

There are other cultural exchange activities like Sino-Greek cultural and art-friendly exchange story has invited artists and designers from two countries to share their own creative experiences. 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Mascot Bing Dwen Dwen also made an appearance at the event and enjoyed a warm welcome.
