Inter Milan are doing well this season – after 10 games, they rank No. 2 in the Serie A, trailing Juventus only by one point. However, Giuseppe Marotta, the club's CEO and the hero behind their progress, told Sky Sport Italia that it is not the Nerazzurris' goal to win the Serie A title this season.

"Winning the Scudetto is not our goal this year. Our goal is to bring Inter back as high as possible but it is a gradual process. This year is a starting point, in which there are things that can be improved and we will do that but everything has to happen quietly without pressure," said Marotta.

Inter went through dramatic changes this summer. They hired Antonio Conte, who's been well-known for his tough character, as the team's new manager. They also managed to land two star players, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United.

Thanks to the above improvements, Inter started their new season with six consecutive wins and so far have only lost 2-1 against Juventus. In the UEFA Champions League, they defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on October 23, ranking No. 2 in Group F.

"It was a deserved victory against Brescia. The team has great character and personality and reflect the characteristics of manager Antonio Conte. They are a team that succeed, even in difficulty and bring important results home. We are always trying to improve. This is our goal. The results are proving what we are doing is right and we're being rewarded for the work started in Lugano in July," said Marotta.

Unfortunately for the Nerazzurris, Sanchez hurt the tendons in his left ankle during Chile's 0-0 friendly draw with Colombia and may stay away from the field for three months. Considering that the accident may slow down the club, many wonder what move Inter may make during the winter transfer window. However, Marotta's answer may disappoint them.

"The January window is poor, you don't come across many great opportunities. I don't know what the market can offer. We must see what comes up. The midfield department must be reinforced."
