Barentsburg is the second-largest settlement on Svalbard Islands, located in the Arctic Ocean, halfway between Norway and the North Pole. There are about 470 inhabitants who work and live here, primarily Russian and Ukrainian miners and scientific research personnel. It is close to the Arctic glaciers and has diverse wildlife. CGTN is exploring the arctic glaciers and wildlife in Barentsburg by foot, and taking a look at the Russian arctic research station and meteorological and hydrological monitoring station.
