At the Country Exhibition at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE), over 60 nations, including China, will showcase their very best in culture, products, developments in trade, and how they are gearing up for the future.

Of the 64 participating countries – covering five continents – 24 will make their debut.

Wu Zhengping, director general of the Trade Development Bureau at China's Ministry of Commerce, said the China Pavilion promises a lot of interactive fun.

"For example, the commercial aircraft made in China and the FAST (or Five Hundred-Meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope).

We use a lot of modern technology to display these exhibits, like AI, virtual reality and 5G to display the good life that the Chinese people are living," Wu said.

One of the highlights, Wu said, is definitely to "fly the aircraft," adding that "you cannot experience this in other exhibitions."

CGTN reporter gave it a go and said it was super fun and realistic. One can even learn a thing or two about "piloting" a plane!

The Country Exhibition at the CIIE covers an area of 30,000 square meters. It will also feature three international organizations: The WTO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC).

There are 15 guest countries of honor, including Cambodia, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, India, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Peru, Russia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Zambia.

The CIIE marks China's commitment to open up further, as it seeks to buy more goods from the world. And developed and developing countries alike are seeking to tap into China's market.

Aninawati Saleh, the manager of China and Northeast Asia from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, said Malaysia hopes not to be left out given the global current economic conditions.

"We want to be together, and we try to give options to other countries to see Malaysia as an alternative either on trade or investment."

Mate Abesadze from the Georgian Pavilion said Georgia will showcase its government and services, railways in how they transport containers from Georgia to China directly, and their wine products at the Country Exhibition.

"Because we are the country where wine was born. So we hope the Chinese market will accept our wine as well," he said.

"Last year, we negotiated a program where we have free trade with China, so we have direct railways, so hopefully, Georgian products will be sold in the Chinese market."

Abesadze added that economically, China is rising and thinks it's one of the most attractive markets for other countries as well as for Georgia.
