The world has been seeing a wave of protests, with people taking to the streets, from Chile to Spain, to Lebanon, to Iraq, to Pakistan and Hong Kong. The demonstrations in Chile have led to the cancellation of two high profile meetings, including the APEC meeting, which was supposed to bring together leaders from more than 20 Asia-Pacific countries and regions. In Spain, people marched through the streets of Barcelona to protest the jailing of separatist leaders. In Lebanon, Prime Minister Saad Hariri has tendered his resignation amid nation-wide protests. The Iraqi riots started in early October and have left over 200 people dead. The unrest is considered to be the deadliest since ISIL was declared defeated there. On Saturday, tens of thousands of Islamists also rallied in Pakistan's capital Islamabad, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. And the protests in Hong Kong are ongoing.
