World number one Judd Trump captured the championship title in China during the World Open held in Yushan, Jiangxi Province, China, on November 3, 2019, beating Thepchaiya Un-Nooh of Thialand with a 10-5 win, taking home the 150,000 pound prize.

Trump triumphed over John Higgins in the semi-final with a 6-5 victory the day before.

In the first session of the final, Trump raced up to 7-1, winning six frames in a row after Un-Nooh leveled with him at 1-1 in the first two frames, including being awarded the seventh one where the Thai player took an indirect route to the back of the reds as opposed to the straight roll up and missed three times, and was thus penalized for it.

Un-Nooh cut the deficit and took it to 8-5, but couldn't stop Trump when he regained the momentum with a 136 and sealed the deal in frame 15 with breaks of 61 and 36.

"I'm very happy," said Trump. "I didn't play that well all week, I won a lot of close games 5-4 and 6-5, and then I played better today. I have worked very hard this season to try to replicate what I did last season. I try to enjoy myself every time I come to China."said Trump post-game, according to the World Snooker website.

"To win two titles already this season and to be number one in the rankings is very good. It puts me in a good position where I can just relax.  I want to win the UK Championship so I can hold all three Triple Crowns at the same time."

34-year-old Un-Nooh who won the 2019 Snooker Shoot Out earlier this year in February was obviously disappointed at his own performance, saying that he couldn't sleep until 3 am.

This title would be the sixth Trump had won this year, including the Northern Ireland Open, the Masters, the World Grand Prix, the World Championship and the International Championship, from all six together he has won a total of 1.195 million pounds.
