Peter Szijjarto, minister of Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Trade, hailed China's decision to further open up its market during an exclusive interview with CGTN. "For us, the free, fair and open global trade is vital," he said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the decision at the opening ceremony of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Tuesday. President Xi said China will expand market opening-up and optimize the framework to do so, deepen multilateral and bilateral cooperation, improve the business environment and work with others to build the Belt and Road Initiative

"We hope this policy of China regarding opening-up its economy will continue because this (suits) our national interest. The more China opens up, the more opportunities Hungarian companies will have," Szijjarto said.

Calling the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) "the practical basis for the Eurasian cooperation," Szijjarto also voiced support for multilateralism in a global setting.
