"We believe that climate change is a common challenge facing all mankind, and all members of the international community should work together to do their utmost," noted Geng.

Geng hoped the U.S. could show more responsibility and commitment on the issue while stressing that China has all along firmly supported multilateralism and the Paris Agreement.

"China is ready to continue taking responsibility proportional to its level of development and take concrete measures to deal with climate change," Geng stressed.

According to the spokesperson, China is ready to work with all parties in the international community to push forward the effective implementation of the agreement and promote green, low-carbon and sustainable development of the global economy.
