"China has signed 197 documents with 137 countries and 30 international organizations to jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative," Chinese President Xi Jinping said while delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Tuesday in Shanghai.

Xi noted that based on the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, China will achieve sustainable goals, and promote high-quality development.

The second CIIE is being held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from Tuesday to Sunday.
