Singapore's newly opened Taobao Store, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, is hosting its first Singles' Day celebration.

Singles' Day promotions at the Singapore venue include coupons and discount codes.

While Taobao sells a seemingly unlimited number of products, the platform's Singapore store focuses on household items, its fastest growing category in the city state.

The physical store gives Singaporean shoppers the opportunity to see big ticket household items in real life and talk to a sales representative before placing their orders online via the Taobao app.

The store is run in partnership with Singaporean company Virmall and is part of Alibaba's plan to reach more shoppers outside of China.
