Iran's atomic agency has announced that Tehran is stepping up uranium enrichment activities at an underground nuclear facility. A spokesperson said 2,000 kilograms of uranium have been delivered to the Fordow plant, under the supervision of United Nations inspectors. The official added that Tehran has started injecting uranium gas into centrifuges, a move that will move the Fordow facility's status as a research plant to an active nuclear site.

It's Tehran's latest move in scaling back from its commitments to a nuclear deal with world powers since the United States withdrew from the pact in 2018. For more on the situation in Iran, we're joined by Middle East analyst Meir Javedanfar.
