Nearly 2,000 unique innovation projects are presented at the 23rd National Exhibition of Inventions in south China's city, Foshan, which kicked off on Thursday, and hosts an array of participants in one of Guangdong Province's most well-known manufacturing hubs.

A variety of projects are displayed, including those featuring national defense, high-end manufacturing, smart home appliances and eco-friendly technology.

Happening at the same time is the third Belt and Road and BRICS Skills, Development & Technology Competition. Hundreds of contestants from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are participating in competitions in the fields of AI, blockchain and IoT.

The exhibition and competition are co-hosted by China's Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Intellectual Property Administration, and the China Association of Inventions.
