Two Chinese polar icebreakers, Xuelong (Snow Dragon) and Xuelong 2, are meeting at a foreign harbor for the first time. Xuelong 2, China's first domestically produced polar icebreaker, arrived at the Port of Hobart, Australia on November 4 , where it met the more experienced icebreaker Xuelong. It would be the first time two icebreakers have worked together on China's Antarctic expeditions, which also enhance China's ability to tackle climate change and increase its global Antarctic governance participation.
