The 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) made 71.13 billion U.S. dollars of intended deals, a 23-percent increase from the last expo, according to the CIIE bureau at Sunday's press conference.

High specification, high numbers
More than 3,800 enterprises from 181 countries and regions across the world took part in the 2nd CIIE, and over 7,000 domestic and foreign buyers came to the expo to negotiate purchase.
The professional audience registration accounted more than 500,000 people and the exhibition area reached 360,000 square meters.
Among the domestic buyers, 32 percent are from the manufacturing field, and 25 percent from the wholesale and retail industry.
As of 12:00 p.m., November 10, the cumulative number of visitors exceeded 910,000.

The 2nd CIIE came with high specifications, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE bureau. The expo was actively responded to in both China and abroad, drawing 126 foreign government delegations, and more than 200 foreign guests at the vice ministerial level and above.
According to Sun, there are 391 new products, technologies or services launched at the expo, which is more than last year.
"The CIIE is gradually becoming the preferred platform of choice for new products and technology releases and transactional purchases in various industries," Sun stressed.

The third CIIE next year will feature "Technology and equipment", "consumer and smart life", "food and agricultural" and "service and health".
As of now, more than 230 companies have signed up for the next CIIE, with an exhibition area of over 84,000 square meters. Eighty of them are among the world's top 500 and leading enterprises, covering over 50,000 square meters in exhibition area.
Signing up before January 31, 2020, and the down payment is not less than 50 percent, the company can get a 10-percent off exhibition fee, said Sun.
