Eight people were killed and another six wounded on Sunday in a car crash in northeast China's Jilin Province, confirmed local police.

The accident happened at about 3:00 p.m. local time in the southeastern suburbs of the city of Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, when a minibus traveling from the downtown area collided with a concrete truck.

All the injured have been sent to hospital and received further treatment.

Further investigation is underway.
