The Portuguese version of TV series "Xi Jinping's Classical Literary Quotes" and "Historic Journey" aired during prime-time and on new media platforms of Brazil's Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicacao on Monday, local time.
President of China Media Group (CMG) Shen Haixiong, Governor of Sao Paulo, Joao Doria, and other officials attended the premiere event.
Shen Haixiong believes the Portuguese version will give Brazilian people insight to today's China, allowing audiences in Brazil to understand more about China's changes, especially in the 70s when the Chinese people entered a new era of vitality more vividly, deepening the cultural exchanges between the two peoples.
"This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. The China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership has been deepening under the guidance of the two heads of state and has become a model of South-South cooperation," said Shen.
"Brazil-China friendship is not limited to economy and trade. The Brazilian people want to know more about China. We believe the two feature films will better promote the mutual understanding and lasting friendship between the two peoples," said Doria.
"Xi Jinping's Classical Literary Quotes" carefully selected famous sayings and historical stories from ancient Chinese classics, quoted by President Xi in his speeches, articles, and talks.
"Historic Journey" details achievements made in the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
CMG translated the two TV series into English, Italian, Greek and other languages and released them globally, reaching billions of overseas audiences, attracting widespread attention and critical reviews.
Founded in 1937, Brazil's Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicaçao owns 40 media brands, covering more than 150 million people in Brazil and South America.
