A "Friends" reunion is happening as the six iconic actors are reportedly in talks to reunite on HBO Max 25 years after the show's debut, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reported.  

According to the reports, preliminary talks were underway for an unscripted reunion special that would feature Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, as well as series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman.  

The special will air on upcoming streaming service HBO Max, a unit of AT&T's WarnerMedia. But the sources the reports citing caution that a deal is far from done and agreements with cast and creatives still need to be hammered out.  

HBO Max has declined to comment so far.  

Recently on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Jennifer Aniston who played Rachel in "Friends," revealed that the cast of the show has been "working on something" other than a reboot.

The mega-hit show continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary, with a series of events being held globally. Running from 1994 to 2004 on NBC, the show follows six friends in New York City struggling for their careers, love and more.

The show is currently streaming on Netflix where it was the second most-watched show in 2018, according to Nielsen data. HBO Max secured the rights to all 10 seasons of "Friends" for its streaming service that is scheduled to launch in April 2020.
