China to close one of its largest landfills

China is going to close one of its largest landfills located in Jiang Goucun in northwestern Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. Covering an area of over 164 acres, the landfill was built in 1994 and has been handling over 10,000 tons of waste every day. Local authorities said the area will be turned into a large ecological park.
