On November 12, 2019, deer in Richmond Park of Britain's west London lock antlers as the breeding season for deer begins. During the rutting season, the bucks will use their antlers to compete and fight for the chance to mate with does.
The rutting season for deer in Britain is usually between late September and early November, as the fight between bucks during this time will be frequent. Apart from the antlers locking, bucks will also "dress up" with plants on their antlers as "hair styles" to attract the does.
