Autumn is often called fall because leaves fall from trees during the season. The Quzonggong area of Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve has been painted with an array of colors. The snow-capped mountains are shining under the sun, and the moon is visible on the other side. The pine trees are now a colorful palette.

An empty cottage sitting at the foot of the mountains belongs to local Tibetans. The family leaves the area during the autumn and winter months, but will return next spring with their yaks.

In British author James Hilton's novel "Lost Horizon," Shangri-La is depicted as a place isolated from the world. However, in southwest China's Yunnan Province, Shangri-La is the name of a county-level city in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and it is often used as a substitute name for the region. Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve is a real Shangri-La in Shangri-La.
